Responsibilities

Design Leadership:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the UX/UI design team, setting the vision and direction for our games' user experiences.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions align with overall product goals and player expectations.

  • Collaborate with game designers to ensure seamless integration of UI/UX with gameplay.

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers (in-person and remotely), fostering communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee the development of design talent, encouraging skill growth and professional development.

Design Strategy:

  • Develop and communicate a cohesive design strategy that aligns with the company's vision and business objectives.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating innovative design concepts into our games.

User Research and Testing:

  • Conduct and oversee user research activities to gain insights into player behaviors and preferences.

  • Use data-driven insights to inform design decisions and iterate on user interfaces for optimal player experiences.

Design System Ownership:

  • Own and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across multiple games and platforms.

  • Establish and enforce design standards and guidelines to maintain a high level of quality in our games.

  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for user testing and feedback.


Requirements

  • 7+ years of product design experience; experience in the gaming industry is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Product Design, UX/UI Design, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Experienced in all things design from strategy to execution with an expertise in Product design and a portfolio + metrics to prove it.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.

  • Ability to think strategically about design and its impact on the overall player experience.

  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience as a people manager — including managing managers and structuring complex teams.

  • Experience with user testing and prototyping.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and demonstrating a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.

  • Strong ability to convince, influence, and inspire different audiences on all levels, while being comfortable presenting to both design and non-design stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner.
